Fred & Andy

M'Pay Bay

We had a peaceful night last night with no storms but it was very hot so sleep still wasn't easy.

We head down to the jetty to pick up our boat for Andy's dive. Fred is going snorkeling.  The dive school we go with is run by an Irish guy called Tom and Andy is the only diver today ... there are 12 snorkelers! Its a nice day and there is some pretty coral and nice fish to see.  We have lunch in the village at the north of the island called M'Pay Village. It isn't very pretty and there is litter everywhere but, again, its being developed. There are already a few guest houses here and more are planned.  The village is being moved back off the shoreline to make way for all the development ... progress?!

The lady who does the snorkeling is Cambodian and seems to think our bites are sand flies not mozzies.  That's good news from a malaria point of view but it means we'll be itching for a lot longer!

Zebbie and Johan are leaving today so we say our goodbyes.  There is no ATM on the island so when your money runs out you have to leave ... they are gutted to be going.  We'll need to count our pennies and see how much longer we can afford to stay.
