Cup a load of this

On another scorcher of a day, what better sight than a water fountain? Unfortunately, this is not in use, but it still quenched my thirst for history, as it's the first Metropolitan drinking fountain (from 1859).
These are its two cups, chained to the fountain, with the words 'replace the cup' in big letters off-shot.
