Terrible

that's his name.  So what's going on here?  Appears to be little of the  wide-angle (ish) distortion as I achieved here a few days ago.  I had a go at photographing the tooth extracted from Kathy's mouth today (can't get much more personal than a tooth I thought) but that was pretty small to shoot close up and get any distortion. That didn't work either.  But a wide angle will make a confined space look larger than it is - perhaps that's it?  Or perhaps 18mm just isn't wide enough.
