A Peep Thru the Pinhole

The Moeraki Boulders

These perfectly spherical boulders lie about an hour's drive north of Dunedin, on the Pacific Otago Coast. They are a fascinating phenomenon and, having first seen them 16 years ago, I was really happy that my organised tour included a stop here on this occasion.

For full geological information I will have to refer you to Wikipedia, or similar, but I believe that they were formed here many millions of years ago.
