Howe Gelb

Went to see Howe Gelb (of Giant Sand) tonight in Bristol. It was at a lovely venue inside an old church, St Georges. Gelb is described as the grandfather of alt-country and has released around 40 albums under different names (he's not sure himself how many). He's very dry and relaxed, chatting to the audience about choosing to come here by train instead of flying RyanAir for instance. 
He played a few songs and then we had a preview of the Giant Sand film
