Early stages of creating a wildlife pond

We've not got very far with digging the pond. On account of having nowhere to tip the spoil at the moment. I looked into hiring a skip but they are very expensive and it would be such a waste to dump good topsoil like this. We're going to reuse the stones to line the edges of the pond when the liner is finally in place.

Had a good swim first thing then it was up to the allotment to plant the potatoes. Seven rows, with 11 potatoes a row. Two rows of Casablanca, two of Charlotte and two of Cara with a final row made up of leftovers. Also planted out the lettuces bought from Aldi last week and covered them with a cloche.

Spent the remained of the afternoon mostly working on the ongoing prison contract, interspersed with emails and phonecalls about other things.
