Back Home

Last day here in Berlin so quickly got packed up then headed we walked the few blocks to meet Gillian to have breakfast in a place called SETS.  We sat there for a couple of hours chatting and laughing over some of the stuff that had happened during our time in the City.  With our flight being at 1.30 we didn’t have as long as would have liked, it’s always sad going home when you have had such a fabulous time, but its’ even more so when you are saying farewell to a friend.  As always, Gillian was a great host, and even introduced us to a song that was about Berlin by David Bowie called Where are we now.  It was about his time in Berlin with Iggy Pop and a ladyfriend in the 70s and in the video he sings of taking a train to Podsdamer Platz, and sings of places we were, so it’s the song of the trip!  Potsdaaaamer Plaaaatzzzz (in a deep voice)…  (there is always a song associated with a holiday) J

This time going home the plane was battling a head wind so it was a longer journey home of 2 hours 20mins and when the door opened at Glasgow Airport we were greeted with sleet buffeting up from the tarmac Yeeeeuch.

Got the most fantastic welcome at my brother’s from Breagha, she practically turned somersaults seeing us back.  She did have a great time with Graham and Morag though, Morag sheepishly admitting that breagha slept between them in the bed…  she is always spoilt by whoever looks after her when we are away.

Finished off the day back home with a carry out chippy to console ourselves being back home.
