Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Comma

Today I walked down into the valley and wandered through the nature reserve, along the river, into Buck Wood, along the river a bit more and then back up the hill home.

Most of the way I was counting butterflies: 54 Small Tortoiseshell, 37 Peacock, 3 Large White (my first of the year) and this solitary Comma found on the banks of the Aire.

Bird highlights of the day: my first Blackcap of the year, Chiffchaffs everywhere and a pair of Goosander on the river.
