What a day! Alice played footie in the morning, at the Copper Box for goodness sake, at a Futsal tournament. She had a great time - really enjoyed 5-aside and her team, the Limehouse Laces scored their first ever goal - whoop. There's more on AlfeeTee's post

And meanwhile in Shadwell Elsa sang her heart out with her choir. I so love these choir performances - we have our very own Gareth Malone in the form of Oscar Wood. I think he's brilliant. The concert this time included a rendition of Teardrop by Massive Attack woven into Sweet Child of Mine by Guns'n'Roses. Hard to believe but true. And it works. I know no one will be reading this because I'm so horribly behind but I shall try and load the track via Soundcloud later, for my own pleasure if not yours.

We followed all this with an evening at the velodrome watching cycling. Turned out a friend of ours son was racing so we had a great time watching him whizz round and round at breakneck speed. The highlight for me was the Madison - a hair-raising game of tag aroud 50 laps of the track. Georg and his mate did amazingly well againt the current champions, all the more amazing when we learned that because of Georg's age he has to ride in a lower gear than the adults (so he doesn't damage his growing body) so has to pedal faster to keep up.

And at the same time that Georg was whizzing around the velodrome his younger sister Scarlett was competing for GB in a diving competition in Oslo. It's her first outing for GB, she was the youngest competitor and she came 4th - incredible.

Addition: as promised here's the song
