La Culture c'est moi!

This is the original title of the sculpture made by the Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd. (Also known for his sculpture Non-Violoence).  The pig is placed outside the culture house in the municipality where I live (Upplands-Bro, 30 km outside of Stockholm). There are various interpretations of the pig-culture combo.  One of them recalls the legend of the pig Särimer from an ancient Nordic saga: You could have the pig as food in the evening but it would reappear the next day so there will always be food available.  Culture can also be consumed one day but it will still be there the next day.

Now I found this pig behind bars in a construction area outside the culture house.  New interpretation: Regardless of what happens in the surroundings culture will always survive...
