Herriot land!

On our way from Sheffield to the Lake District today and decided to stop over at Thirsk for lunch. For someone who grew up on the Herriot books, it was interesting to see the village Darrowby was based on and Skeldale house. Alas no time for a tour, but a very pleasant wander around the town. On to the Lakes and a very charming B&B. One of the oldest buildings in the area and quite the rabbit warren to get yo our room!
