Quebec Skyline

We have spent the day in Quebec City. It's a beautiful place with a lot of history and some charming buildings.

There is one problem - when wandering about you inevitably end up in the quaint streets of Vieux-Port, obviously down by the river, and, if like us your hotel is in the Vieux-Quebec, you have to get back up somehow. There is a funicular (seen on this photo) but cowards like me shun that and have an awful lot of steps to climb.

This skyline, taken from across the St Lawrence River, is so different from the Toronto skyline. It is dominated by the huge Chateau Frontenac Hotel, which opened in 1893.
