Sami reindeer farmer

Insight from some Sami folk:
- There are around 150,000 Sami people across Northern Scandinavia and Russia.
- Despite trying very hard to uphold their traditions, some things, like drying out reindeer stomachs on the fire to use a milk containers, are just too time consuming to carry on with.
- In the family I spoke with, the 3-year-old son carried a knife which was a bit shocking, but he was expected to use it with care and help out.
- Sami people are very superstitious: keep your teapots facing north, or else your reindeer may go blind (or something like that...)

- Finally, the bed is not just for sleeping! The bed is for making offspring! Particularly when many of your offspring may head to Stockholm and not continue your ancient traditions.
