Tulips at Knightshayes

A day that soon developed into a warm sunny one, after the sea mist had cleared.

We drove off to explore Tiverton in Mid Devon.  Its an interesting town with an Iron Age Fort, a Roman Fort, a Norman Castle and a historic wool trading history.  The name means the town on two fords referring to the rivers Exe and Lowman.  Knightshayes, a national trust property is situated not far from here and we visited the property in the afternoon.  It has very large gardens and many varieties of Camellia and Rhododendron in flower.  These tulips were seen around the base of a large tree and in the walled garden where I took this shot.
