Everything went a little green

Natalie Bennett was in town today campaigning with our local Green party candidate.

I like the idea of the green party. However while some of their policies make a lot of sense a lot of them are drivel and the funding will be exciting. The majority of them do however seem honest people who actually want to do the right thing (even if it is unfundable) unlike some other politicians we could mention. However their tax proposals mean they won't be getting my vote.

This election is the most exciting in years and the rise of the Greens and other smaller parties to challenge the current large parties has to be a good thing. I just wish they would concentrate on real policies, with sums and everything (that goes for all of the parties).

Anyway they were having a jolly nice time in the middle of Cambridge, lots of slightly bewildered foreign students were waving Green party flags (made of plastic I noted). If only it had been a UKip rally that would have made for a fantastically ironic blip ;)
