Tranquility

The weather was very hazy, and it was warm today. We went to Langdale and parked at the National Trust car park at the New Dungeon Ghyll. Luckily, as National Trust for Scotland members this was free and saved us £7.00 (Edinburgh rates!). We went up Pavey Ark via Jack's Rake and on over Harrison Stickle, Pike O'Stickle and Loft Crag. For the third day running I was in orienteering shoes and was completely dry. How come we had to run in bogs at the weekend? We then went to the National Trust campsite at Low Wray. It was £21.50 for no electricity and sloping parking. How do they justify that? However the site is by Windermere and the views were stunning as the sun set. This is a blip of the familiar skyline of the Langdale Pikes that we had walked up earlier, and two lucky souls out in kayaks enjoying the peace.
