I can see clearly now...

...the green has gone.  And it's not a good outlook for the goldfish since we sometimes have a visiting heron.

It is rather fascinating though as the pond is teaming with newts and frogs, and the fish had obviously been breeding in the murky green-ness since I thought there were only about 8.

As it was so overgrown last year we rashly removed most of the vegetation and now we have nothing for the pond life to hide under.  I'll need to make an emergency visit to purchase some vegetation 'cover' in the next few days, so long as the heron doesn't spot them first.
