Blipped Lord Grey last time we were in town - today's memorial to the Boer War is fondly known as the "Mucky Angel".  It is a well known landmark at the top of Northumberland Street, and a meeting place of my youth. Though it is a lot cleaner now, "Winged Victory" will always be referred to by its old moniker...
