Kayak Safety Class #2

The second kayak safety class was hilarious and very informative.

We came away with a plan to stay close to shore and avoid "swimming" at all costs.

That being said, Kathy and I learned how to work together to rescue each other quickly and effectively as well as empty the rescued boat of water and get it upright once again all in deep water.

Then comes getting back into the boat. There are several ways to get back aboard, each way is its own trick. All of them require quite a bit of coordination and effort to accomplish.

We worked hard and had a blast doing so.

Also Kathy and I learned to have a new respect for the action photographers who do their work on boats. Wow, composing and capturing the image when you and everything else is moving... very difficult.

Looking forward to our next kayak adventure with new eyes.
