Mornings and Moorhens

Despite my intention to get up early this morning, I woke at around 6.00 a.m., thought "not that early", turned over and fell asleep again until nearly 9 a.m.  I'm loath to set an alarm clock now that I no longer have to, but I do wish I could get going a bit earlier than I do at the moment.  Maybe I should try a regular alarm time for a week or so and see if that shifts my body clock a bit.

The moorhens on Skottowes Pond in Lowndes Park, Chesham, probably don't have any problem getting up early now they've got a little brood of hyperactive chicks to look after.  They're the first birds that live by the pond to have a family this spring.  I'm sure these won't be the last chicks I blip this season...
