Blackthorn Blossom

After yesterday’s warm and sunny, sea mist and damp today. The sun tried its best to shine through but with onshore winds the mist stayed put.
Seeking the sun we went to Tamar Lakes and walked along the aqueduct trail. The chiff chaffs chiff chaffed, willow warblers cascaded,
kingcups , and celandines shone gold and the hedge rows were covered in blackthorn blossom snow. The first spring butterflies flitted past mostly without stopping.  Except, that is, for the peacocks basking in the sun before suddenly darting up on patrol or spiralling up with another until lost in the sky before coming back down to the spot from whence it had come. Many of the blackthorn bushes were swathed in coats of delicate lichens.
