Brim.

This is halwa. We walked around Stone Town today, visiting the markets and buying knick knacks to take home. Bought a Kanga, which is a decorated piece of cloth, with Swahili proverb you can tie into a dress. Dad got told off multiple times for not having taught me Swahili growing up. :p

Halwa, the best way to describe the type I've grown up with, is eaten warm, looks similar to jelly but is thicker and tougher or more fluid to pull apart and much less sugary, and is either mixed with nut or seeds. The closest I've come to the love you have for Asian/African desserts growing up, is the endless varieties of German cake.

Went to the food market in the evening. ^_^
