Borders Country

With a free Saturday - a sunny forecast and the whole of eastern Scotland at our disposal the only question was which way to go? South won! We travelled out by the A68 and back by the A7.

Hard to believe, but we had never been to Dryburgh Abbey or Scott's View before. Both were breathtaking in their different ways.

We came home via Melrose. Its ruined Abbey won the competition of which picture to blip - from so many!

On the way home the A7 follows  the Borders railway route which re-opens in September.  It is great to see one of Dr Beeching's railway axe blades being buried and trains - possibly even steam trains in the summer - returning to service.

If you look here you will see Where Andy and Kim Murray went on honeymoon !!!!
