Mr Flum's Segway Experience

Enjoyed a family day out at Newhailes, which was our Christmas gift to the kids, with an extra place for Mr Flum.

After initial instruction and training on the Segway X2's the group of twelve set off round the estate, through woods and fields, while the Flumlet and I buggied along similar paths, taking in the birdlife (wren, a pair of bullfinches and a yaffle, among others), crossing paths with the others here and there. I snapped them crossing behind Newhailes House, on their way to the outer limits of the estate. After the event all six of us enjoyed lunch at the café, though the Flumlet had brought his own.

Although the breeze was cold in the bright sunshine (and despite the occasional tumble) the experience was declared a great success. I have also discovered that the estate provides opportunities for a variety of walks, with or without a sleeping 8-month old.
