Super Sunny Sundays

Today Ann’s weather app was full of little sunshine pictures.  And what a super sunny Sunday it has been.


Sunday is our ‘big long walk and eat Sunday lunch day’, so off we went to ‘St Just’ to do a big long circular walk.  The sun was shining and the sky was blue and after about half an hour, Ozzy,( my very gorgeous golden retriever boyfriend), was panting so much that Ann thought he was about to have a heart attack??!!  Actually, he was panting in the car too, so we think it’s just a ‘retriever thing’???

So when we reached a lovely clean stream, Ann said, ‘OK Molly, you & Ozzles can have a wallow and please have a drink at the same time.’  Well Ozzy did lots of wallowing.  He likes water as much as me (it’s one of the things we have in common) but he didn’t have a drink???  So we’re guessing he just does a lot of panting because he’s on a long walk and wants everyone to know how macho he is???  What a show off?!!!

...................And then we reached the coast path and we met a man who said that he’d just seen some adders and to take care.  Ann’s friend, who was walking with us, was really excited cos she wanted to see an adder.  .......................Ann was not excited.  She said, ‘Molly & Oz, please do not deviate from the path, otherwise I will put you back on your leads.

So we didn’t deviate from the path.  And we didn’t see an adder.  And we didn’t get put back on our leads.

......................What we did see were two choughs (apparently they’re quite rare) and we met a couple of ‘twitchers’ who had seen a wryneck (even rarer).  But we are a collie & a golden retriever so do we care about any of that???  No we don’t!

So we walked along the coast path until we got to ‘Cot Valley’ and then we walked back to St Just hoping to pop into one of the many pubs for a big roast lunch.  But by this time it was after 3pm and all the pubs had stopped serving lunch.

So the humans had to go hungry and us doggies didn’t get any titbits.  Boohooo!!!!!

................And do you know what happened next?  We came home and the humans sat on our very sunny sun terrace and had a very late liquid lunch glass of wine.

And now it’s 7pm and us doggies are both lying flaked out.
