By Shanks' pony..

...  an old Scottish saying for going by foot.  We've travelled through most of the town on an electric car, by tram to the Jewish quarter and today we're taking a walk along the river bank.  To get there we walked through the Krakow Planty, one of the largest city parks in Krakow. It encircles the old town where the medieval city walls used to stand until the middle of the 19th Century. Most of the historic sites of old Krakow are located within the boundary of the Planty Park with the Florian Gate to the north, the Wawel Castle and Hill and the Vistula River to the south. There are lots of benches to sit and people watch or have a snack from a street vendor or to simply enjoy the trees and plants as you walk along.
