New Pastels - into painting!

After a few hours in the mudroom, trimming all the mugs i made yesterday....i tackled this image of St. Anne's bay again....this is the 3rd time i've tried this image!   it started out so much darker than i usually do for an underpainting and i was feeling a bit intimidated.....so weird cos really all it is is a piece of paper and some pastels!!!!   If you go to my flickr page  you'll get to see 6 of the steps!

apart from a 2-3 others, i only used the set of pastels seen here!   it was such a joy to be limited to such a well rounded palette of colours!  I think i'm gonna have fun with these!
