Fungi on the lawn

I've been disappointed at the lack of mushrooms on our lawn and in our paddocks this year, which I really can't understand with all the warmish, wet weather we've been having.  You could therefore understand my excitement when I drove up the drive this afternoon, and saw several mushrooms growing in the lawn.  Unfortunately they were a bit old, so I didn't pick them, but instead left them to be mowed up when the lawns are mowed next.
