Delicate operation...

I watched this little insect (no idea what it is.. a hover bee?) for some time. It manoevered itself very slowly from flower to flower with its proboscis extended, gently lowering itself very precisely into the mouth of each flower.  Occasionally its legs extended but I think its proboscis is longer than its legs so it seemed to hover more than stand!!  

Beautiful day again today but I do hope this isn't our summer.. I long for spring to last but with this warmth it will pass too quickly.
