Greater Yellowlegs

I took the day off from work and went down to Mason Neck State Park in Northern, VA.  Temperatures were hovering around 40 F/4.4 C and winds were blowing pretty good to boot.  As a result, I think most of the critters went into hiding.

After being out for 90 minutes, I got one overhead shot of an Osprey, a Turkey Vulture, and a couple of other unmemorable photos.  So I went off the trail in hopes of finding something else...

When I got to the Potomac River, the winds were howling and there were actually waves (I've only seen this a couple of times).  A short distance later, I stumbled across this Greater Yellowlegs

Thanks Pipersmom for helping me identify this!
