Anzac

ANZAC
Over the past few weeks I have traced the descendants of this 20 year old ANZAC.
The photo was found in the belongings of a friend. We decided to try and find his details as an ANZAC project

We did and found this to be Robert Arthur Rivers who was killed in action on 1st June 1916.
Our research was a sobering reminder of what these ANZACS gave for us all 100 years ago

The metal soldier in the photo is a model moulded out of spent bullit from the Somme in Belgium. This was moulded by a old "character " Schrappnell Charlie who collected the bullits and sold these "diggers" to raise money for charity.

It is a time for us to remember.

Lest We Forget
