Sandpiper

After reviewing pages of sandpiper pictures in my Golden field guide, the best I could do was determine that this was a sandpiper. There are multiple pages of sandpiper variations but I could not find one that corresponded closely enough to this one to identify which kind of sandpiper. Anyone out there who can help?
