Mount Lavinia Beach

This morning we take the computer to a local Apple place and they say its either the motherboard or screen, both of which would be expensive to repair. They offer to do a diagnostics and back up our data but even that's not cheap so we decide to phone a friend before committing to anything. Fred sends an email to Denise to see if her lovely hubby can shed any light.

We decide to head to Mount Lavinia beach to see what all the fuss is about as there are rave reviews on TripAdvisor. Its nice enough but this pic shows it at its best. Parts of it are pretty dirty and there are slum type fishing villages on the beach as you wander up. We explore the area inland a little and there's not much to it either.

Back to beach for a wander and we are joined by various young locals trying to sell us weed. They are nice enough and only trying to make a buck but as we stop for a beer and are joined by one or two we begin to get the sob stories and it gets a bit tiresome so we head back and have dinner locally.

Around this time we also notice one of the hinges on Andy's super, spanking, all singing all dancing violin case is broken!  It was a birthday present from his mum a year ago so we wonder if the warranty period will be passed ... Andy emails to see what she can do.
