Fish

The Tsukiji Fish Market is a good experience, although you need to be there at about 5am to see the place in full swing. When we got there it was mounds of white plastic fish boxes, men swilling water over the floor to wash away fish entrails and this guy chewing on a bit of fish from some plastic wrapping. I'm dubious about Japan's attitudes towards tuna and general marine conservation, but the scale of this place was still interesting to appreciate.
