Atlantis

Spent a few hours today showing Rapti old and new Dubai! She is transiting through here on her way to Europe and she is the reason we had the first ever reunion of the Youth Group we attended in the 80s. Very sadly, there was a dust storm, so visibility was very poor and photo opps, totally ruined. I am amazed then that this picture looks the way it does and the day was not like this at all.

No matter; this hotel always makes for an interesting blip and it was one of the rare times that I was there unhurried, in the day time!! It was a warm day but nothing to stop us being out and about. We ended up in Dubai Mall to eat a Lebanese meal and see Burj Khalifa, except, in the haste to eat, and then leave, I forgot to actually take Rapti outside the restaurant so she could see the 828m tower right there! Ugh. Can't believe I forgot! Fortunately she's transiting through Dubai again soon, so perhaps can see it then; and the weather/visibility may even be better. :D
