Some of our Alpine Peaks in Solidarity with Nepal

Over 2000 people have died in Nepal in the biggest earthquake for 80 years, most of them in Kathmandu. 18 climbers and guides at Everest Base Camp were killed in an avalanche triggered by the earthquake. The full extent of the loss of life and damage done, will not be known for a while. Needless to say, I was so relieved to find that Pema, our friend and guide last October, and his family, are safe. I am now hoping to hear that Pertemba Sherpa, a friend for 40 years, is OK. Nothing has come through yet. Mountains are so beautiful but oh so dangerous.
