Not a Marathon....

...but I have been to the Top of the Locks today (twice) and to the bottom with the dog.

Dad was a Marathon runner and last ran the London just before his 81st birthday - see extra photo. He would have been glued to the telly this morning!

The additonal picture was taken 400 metres from the end of his last London marathon (he ran other marathons at 81 and 82) . Dad ran about 90 marathons all over the world. His best time was 3hrs 14 minutes and he was 74!!! He stopped running all together at 86. He would go for a  "gentle 5 miles" several times a week.

One of our ideas about what to do with his ashes are to walk his circuit with a hole in the ashes bearing vessel. But I still have mum's ashes (in the dining room) and planned to scatter them both at the same time somewhere appropriate.

I can't do anything until I've picked up Dad's ashes anyway.
