Sanne og Soli Brug

Son M ( home some days from Brussels) and I drove to Sanne and Soli Brug today, around 100 km South of Oslo. Started around year 1600 as a timber mill. Was the biggest Sawmill in Europe mid 1800.  Around 600 workers. Shut down 1925. No social security. Many families moved to US and Canada to seek jobs in the timber and sawmill industry.  Today, however, the main old buildings are kept nice and alive. New owner family is running an art gallery well known for hosting famous painters and artists. The apple juice bottles are locally produced. I bought a bootle only. No painting. Nice place to visit. Nice day.
