Touching can damage

Arrived at Edinburgh for the first time in three years. It's so lovely to come back to this beautiful city. After meeting up with a friend and having pasta for lunch with her, we headed to the National Museum of Scotland. 

Interestingly I was attracted to this notice more than the exhibits. The first sentence is without doubt descriptive, stating the fact that touching can damage the goods on display. Even so the recipients will easily understand that this notice is telling what they are not allowed to do.
