Wide Angle Wednesday: Signs and Symbols

Here's a sign and symbol which may be new to many of you. In lots of Australian rural communities (likely to be affected by bushfire) there is usually a "place of last resort" where people might flock to if all escape routes have been blocked. This is Blackheath's main sporting oval. Under the worst of conditions, recent history of other towns suggests that the need for such a place might prove necessary someday.

Anyway this is my contribution to Wide Angle Wednesday: Signs and Symbols (widwed09). My thanks to Chantler63 for playing host through to the end of May.

I might be missing for a few days but I shall be back blipping upon my return.
