Joyce

Dr Salter's Daydream is a group of four statues by the Thames in Rotherhithe. They are Dr Alfred Salter, his wife Ada and their daughter Joyce, who died in childhood, with Joyce's cat sitting on the wall.
Dr Salter and his wife improved the living conditions of the people of Bermondsey greatly in the early 20th century.
Unfortunately in the early 21st century some toe rags stole the statue of Alfred for it's scrap value! After a local fund raising campaign, it has recently been replaced (with added security coverage) and Ada has also been added to the group by the river.
