The walk to work

One of my favourite things about coming to Copenhagen is the walk to work. We are lucky enough to always stay in a central hotel, not too far from the office but that doesn't mean a dull start to the day.

Every day we take a different route in and always see something new or interesting, from the Christiania Bikes to electric wheelbarrows to ancient bronze statues or marble buildings. There is always something both interesting and enlightening.

Today though my favourite image was these houseboats. The converted lighthouse boat is the focus, but the old grain warehouse is visible, along with the more modern army barracks and in the background a modern hotel.

I think this sums up a lot of Copenhagen for me; respecting the traditional while modernising the outdated and innovating on the new. A difficult hat trick to pull off but something you see here time and time again.
