Gentle falls.

Near Tauranga on the east coast are the McLaren Falls. In this pic there is just a gentle flow. However sometimes it is a torrent as upstream is a hydro system which sometimes diverts the flow[as it is now] but sometimes the gates are opened  to give a rapid flow over the falls and downstream. When the flood gates are open ,at notified times, the river is popular for spectacular white water rafting. Many years ago I did it and it was exhilarating !
