Scarlet

There is a marvelous display of tulips all around the solar clock at the Arboretum at Penn State. Hundreds, if not thousands, of beautiful tulips are just now getting ready to open. Within the coming few days to a week, the display will likely be at peak.

I've been watching the tulips carefully, of course; stalking them, actually. I cannot help myself. The tulip display is one of the things that I look forward to every spring.

On this day, the first few blooms of gorgeous, red, peony-shaped tulips around the edges began to open, and I was there to capture the moment. I tried a number of settings, but thought this one using color accent turned out kind of cool.
