Moored

8.3C at the Met.Office weather station at Leuchars (local weather station shows 14.5C) with sunny spells and plenty of cloud. Light breeze (stronger at the shore).

This morning, while Maeve the Deerhound lay in the sunshine, I potted up some seedlings of Rosa Rugosa. Last Autumn I got some seed heads that had fallen and just crushed them, put them in a pot of free draining compost, and left them in the greenhouse over winter (occasionally checking that the pot hadn't dried out). They were ready to go in pots of their own and were still easy to separate. I hope to plant them out late this year or early next.

Maeve and I went for our walk after lunch. We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore road. We came back along the cycle path and went down to the beach at Westhaven via the road bridge over the railway.

Down on the beach the tide had not long turned and was on its way out. No one was on the beach. The sea was rougher than yesterday. Valhalla A was moored near the beach in the channel through the rocks. We came back over the road bridge over the railway line and back up the main road and round to home.

Later I mowed the front lawn. Maeve stayed indoors.
