May Morning

On the morning of May Day each year, Oxford goes ever so slightly mad. It all kicks off (unless you're an OU student, who loves to party, in which case you've not gone to bed) at 6am, when the Magdalen College choir sing from the top of their tower. Groups from the Brookes International English Club, Oxford Photographic Society and one or two others (or rather around 5000 others) were there this morning for the singing and prayer, then wandered back through the city centre, past various groups of Morris Dancers, one lot of Scottish Country dancers, people wearing incredible costumes, musicians, even some students playing Twister in the street. See the extra photos for a bit more of the atmosphere! After that we had breakfast together at work, unfortunately setting off the fire alarm with out toast, and now I am off to bed. Having been up since 4am this morning, I won't be up early tomorrow, I promise you!
