Day of The Triffids?

Lurking under a propagator in a dark corner of the dining room, I discovered these weird looking seedlings, searching for light. I was taken back to the classic John Wyndham book & film The Day of The Triffids and remember being scared to death as a child. Hope I don't get nightmares about these plants tonight.

They are actually harmless pumpkin seedlings, planted recently, which I had forgotten all about.

Outside, the garden is finally taking shape. After eleven hours out there today, the wall is finished, the ground has been sifted, raked and prepared and the turf is now down and watered. Fingers crossed that it is as successful as the Hallowe'en pumpkin seeds.
