Belles Artes

To impress our friends from Washington on their last day in Mexico City we took them to the Belles Artes building. This spectacular structure barely missed being a post from our last trip, so I was determined to feature it this time around, especially being in the company of an architect. Amazing Art Deco design throughout resulted in a number of photos as I was inspired to search for the"decisive moment" by an exhibition of Henri Cartier-Bresson's work. Fortunately the upper floors were open this time, which allowed me to get this shot showing the magnificent dome in the middle and the two lesser domes on each side. Probably should have done Cartier-Bresson proud and converted it to black and white but I liked the subtle hues in the color version.
