Auzzie Rules!!!

A bird with a career.

Actually a huge Wedgetail Eagle with a career (and a 2 metre wingspan).

Meet Auzzie who is the mascot of the Australian Rules Football West Coast Eagles team. They have had a bad start to the footy season but no fault of this magnificent bird.

At each home game and just before the match starts, Auzzie, under the guidance of her handler Yvonne, does a number of airborne laps of the stadium before returning to the centre of the oval on the signal of Yvonne.

We were lucky to meet Auzzie and Yvonne at very close range when she visited our box while we were having afternoon tea at half time in the match.
