Springtime In Slaidburn

Last week found me in the Trough of Bowland and it was there that I saw a poster advertising a 3 day event Festival at Slaidburn Church. The main body of this church dates from  ca 1450 ,The Tower is the oldest part dating back to ca 1200,.Indeed I could write an essay but best to say, do try and visit ( if you are interested in church architecture ) Today the cakes and drinks could beat  the Ritz .A raffle for a piece of quilting. I'd love to win..Terrific organ music ,(bottom right the organist), arts and crafts were for sale .Some excellent work . Also a flower display depicting well known hymns. These were astonishingly clever. Here you see the display for "He's Got The Whole World In his Hands " , Bell Ringers came and they were fascinating to hear and watch .Well worth clambering up inside the bell tower.to film . Tonight a concert plus  snacks and drinks .Tomorrow another concert by a band conducted by the organist and even more on Monday .This very small village can really get together and create a good time .
